What is Sade Sati?
Sade Sati (literally "seven and a half") occurs when Saturn transits the sign of your natal Moon, the sign before it, and the sign after it — a span of about 7.5 years.
Three phases
Rising phase (2.5y), peak phase (2.5y) and setting phase (2.5y). Each brings its own tests and rewards.
Not all bad
Sade Sati delivers great rewards for the disciplined, and harsh lessons for the careless. Saturn simply returns what you invest.
Key timing
Most people experience Sade Sati twice in a lifetime — around ages 27–32 and 56–61 — and it strongly shapes career and karma.
Phase meanings
The flavour of each Sade Sati phase.
- • Rising (first 2.5y) — Saturn approaches the Moon: anxiety, delays, health issues, friction at work and home begin to build.
- • Peak (middle 2.5y) — Saturn sits on the Moon: the heaviest tests — health, relationships and finances face their biggest pressure.
- • Setting (last 2.5y) — Saturn leaves the Moon: pressure eases, recognition arrives and fruits of past effort ripen.
