Tropical trips need light breathable fabrics, cold trips need thermal layers, and mountain trips need waterproofs even in summer.
Quantity = days
Plan one outfit per day, then cut it by 20% — you can always hand-wash. Socks and underwear are the exception; take one extra pair each.
