💡 Your jet lag reset plan

    What actually causes jet lag

Jet lag happens when your internal body clock no longer matches local daylight. Light is the strongest signal your brain uses to reset it — which is why timing light exposure is the number one weapon.

    Direction matters

Traveling east is harder than west for most people. Going west your day lengthens; going east shortens it, and a shorter day is tougher to adjust to.

    Light is the reset button

Bright light in the morning shifts your clock earlier; bright light in the evening shifts it later. Get the timing right and you adapt about twice as fast.

    One day per zone

On average, your body clock shifts about one time zone per day. A 7-zone flight from New York to Dubai takes roughly a week to fully adapt.
