How it’s calculated

RER = 70 × weight(kg)^0.75 then DER = RER × life-stage factor

The RER formula is the same baseline veterinary nutritionists use for dogs and cats. The life-stage factor accounts for growth, neuter status, indoor activity and pregnancy. Feed amount = DER ÷ kcal per cup (or per can). For mixed feeding, split the total calories between dry and wet portions — e.g. 50% dry + 50% wet.
