Generate a secure RSA key pair with the Web Crypto API and export it as standard PEM. Everything happens locally in your browser.
NIST and industry guidance set 2048-bit as the minimum for RSA through at least 2030, with 3072-bit recommended for data that must stay confidential longer. 1024-bit keys were officially deprecated in 2013 and are shown only for legacy testing. Larger keys give more security margin but cost more CPU: signing a 4096-bit key is roughly 10x slower than 2048-bit. For brand-new systems many prefer ECDSA or Ed25519, but RSA remains the most widely compatible.
