What each case is for
Different naming conventions are used by different languages and systems.
camelCase
JavaScript and Java variables and functions: first word lower, subsequent words capitalised.
snake_case
Python variables, file names, and database columns — underscores between lowercase words.
kebab-case
URLs, CSS class names and HTML attributes — hyphens are URL-safe and readable.
PascalCase
Class and component names in most languages: every word capitalised, no separators.
SCREAMING_SNAKE
Constants in many languages, and environment variable names (e.g. API_KEY).

Tips
Keep your naming consistent and your code reviewers happy.
- • Abbreviations — camelCase "userID" vs "userId": pick one style for acronyms and stick to it.
- • Separators — the converter strips spaces, hyphens and underscores into clean words first, so mixed input still works.
- • Multi-word logic — words are detected on any non-alphanumeric boundary, so "user-ID" and "user_id" convert identically.
