Word-frequency scoring: Common stop words ("the", "and", "of") are filtered out. Each remaining word is counted, and every sentence is scored by the sum of its words' frequencies — sentences that mention the text's most important topics score higher.
Position bias: Opening and closing sentences of each paragraph carry a small bonus, mirroring how human readers weight introductions and conclusions.
